Sing & Dance UP!

In June 2025, the second edition of Sing & Dance UP!, took place. The largest singing and dance event for children came alive on the RTM Stage at Rotterdam Ahoy. Six thousand children from 100 schools across the Netherlands spent months preparing with singing and dance lessons. They traveled to Rotterdam to shine in a vibrant show full of music and dance.

Getting children to sing and dance requires hands-on guidance. In the lead-up to the big final concert, children practice in class under the supervision of professional instructors. Each year, a special theme song is created for the project—by Glen Faria in 2024 and by Babs op de Beat in 2025—along with supplementary teaching materials, such as dance tutorial videos and challenges.
The result was spectacular. During Sing & Dance UP!, the children were shining like real stars, performing alongside guest artists including Hannah Mae, Gaia Aikman, Glen Faria, Zoë Livay, Babs op de Beat, Job Dutchtuberr, Ta Joela, and Edson da Graça.

The event was organized by Méér Muziek in de Klas and made possible by the ELJA Foundation. Together, they believe in creating a lasting impact by giving children the opportunity to sing and dance together—an important experience. Research shows that arts and culture education provides children with a foundation to develop to their fullest potential.
